Soft horse and lots of new things
– I have learned an incredible amount about an incredible amount of things!
For Olivia, the first year was at Fjordane Folk High School A year where she said yes to most things. Everything she was curious about in electives and activities was going to be tested.
– It allowed me to learn a lot about topics and things I wanted to test, but also things that I had never considered before.
The choice of Fjordane came after a need to catch my breath.
– I needed a break from school. I wanted to be outside more, and have a year with more academic content around horses.
The love of the fjord also played a role.
– I am incredibly fond of the Fjords, and that was definitely one of the reasons why I chose that particular place. Fjordane Folk High School .
At the equestrian school, Olivia has gained broad and practical knowledge about horses, and the chance to try many different things.
– What I like best is that we get to learn about everything within the horse profession. And we have had a lot of fun! Neck ring, lead riding, work harness and mounted games are just some of the things we have been able to try our hand at.
Teachers describe it as an important part of everyday life.
– They are competent and versatile. We learn a lot of useful things. At the same time, we also get to be creative and explore in our own way.
One memory remains especially strong
– Christmas tree collection. We brought the horses in work harnesses and set off to transport the Christmas tree down to the school. The students at Outdoor life and Vikings was also there. We met at the gapahuken, lit a fire and drank cocoa. It was winter, snow and sun, and a very special atmosphere that I will remember for a long time.
Beyond the academic aspect, Olivia highlights three experiences that have made everyday life at Fjordane extra memorable:

Three words sum up the year: Knowledgeable. Exciting. Challenging.

– Pack an umbrella and some knitting needles. It's going to be awesome!
One of the memories that stands out especially strongly for Olivia is picking up the Christmas tree on a beautiful winter day in December. She has also had time to explore new measuring and drawing techniques in her art elective, and has had a daily life filled with horses.
