The year has been full of small moments and big nature experiences – everything from surfing in Hoddevika, overnight trips in tents and snow caves, to spectacular summit hikes, says Katinka Wang Larsen (21).

The Drammen girl walked the line Outdoor life in collaboration with the Red Cross on Fjordane Folk High School Here she learned first aid, communications, search and rescue, and how to navigate challenging terrain.

– It's awesome to stand on a mountaintop and know that I can take responsibility if something goes wrong. Here you get to try new interests in a safe environment and develop yourself. The year has made me more confident, and made it easier to throw myself into the unknown, says Katinka.

Katinka recommends everyone try it for a year. Fjordane Folk High School – I've had a lot of fun and learned an incredible amount, concludes Katinka.
