By Fjordane Folk High School We take privacy seriously. It is therefore important to us that you know what kind of information we collect and how we protect your privacy.  

Personal data is information that can identify you as a person, such as an email address, street address, telephone number or a combination of these that makes it possible to estimate who is behind the data.  

Fjordane Folk High School is obliged to process personal data from applicants and students in a responsible manner. All processing of personal data is regulated by the Personal Data Act and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which includes collection, registration, disclosure, compilation, storage and disclosure, or a combination of these. The basis for processing is the consent of the individual user of www.fjordane.fhs.no, unless otherwise specified.

What kind of personal data do we process?  

We store the following personal information about our students:  

  • Name 

  • Address 

  • Telephone number 

  • Email address 

  • Birth number 

  • Account number 

  • Citizenship 

  • Sex 

  • Line selection 

  • Information about absences 

  • Any special information about health 

What is the purpose of processing and storing personal data?  

We use your personal information to administer your application, fulfill our obligations and provide the teaching offer as agreed with you. We also use the information to provide you with information about, among other things, events and anniversaries held by the school.  

Who can access your personal information? 

In order to process your application, you must Fjordane Folk High School its employees have access to your personal data. In such cases, access will only be granted on a need-to-know basis and for the purposes described, and all employees at Fjordane Folk High School are bound by the duty of confidentiality.   

We will not share, sell, transfer or otherwise disclose personal information to others, unless we are legally obligated to do so.

 
 

Storage and deletion of personal information 

Fjordane Folk High School protects your personal data in accordance with the EU Data Protection Directive and Norwegian law. Information we have received in connection with your application is stored in our student register (WisWeb).

Information that we are obliged to retain under the Accounting Act is stored for up to 5 years, as required by the law. 

Your rights to access, change or delete personal data 

You have the right to request access to the personal information we have registered about you at any time, as well as to demand correction or deletion of the information if it is incorrect, incomplete or irrelevant. If you believe that we are processing your personal information in an unfair or unlawful manner, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority.
