We are cleaning up trash and plastic along our coast ! At the same time, we will be based in the beautifully restored galleon "Loyal".
The days we are on tour consist of sailing between different cleaning sites along our coastline, while we take part in the work on board the traditional sailing ship. "Loyal" is equipped for multi-day sailing with a toilet and a fully equipped galley for cooking. Crew and students prepare meals together. Loyal has cabins, a toilet and a fully equipped galley. After a long day at sea we cook together, talk and plan the next leg.
We spend our days cleaning the outer islands and uninvited places and coves without roads for marine debris. We prioritize more exposed areas, and areas that are difficult to get to without a boat. Weather permitting of course. These are basically fantastically beautiful places to visit in themselves!
Psst! Did you know that a galeas is a medium-sized sailing ship that was common in the Nordic countries in the 19th and 20th centuries? Loyal was built in Hardanger in 1887 and is the oldest galeas in the world that is still sailing!
